Cantillation

Anything, anywhere

Do you have a Torah or Haftarah reading you need to practice? Do you want to learn how to read the Megillah… or the megillah of Ruth? Is your bar mitzvah coming up, or do you just want to hear a favorite Biblical passage? I’ll record any passage that you need, from anywhere in the Bible! I’m fluent in all of the standard Eastern Ashkenazi cantillation systems, and have knowledge of Sephardic practice as well.

The living melody

Not only can I read any Biblical passage with cantillation for you, but I can also add cantillation marks to texts that lack them! I have also developed multiple methods of sounding out the cantillation marks for Biblical texts that do not possess a traditional Ashkenazi cantillation system.

Hazzanut as well

The term “cantillation” traditionally applies strictly to the musical marks, or te’amim, found in Biblical texts. But its root is the Latin word cantare, to sing. If your vocal needs are extrascriptural — for instance, if you have a religious service to lead, a passage to recite, or a song to record — any service, for any time of year, using any melodies you want, I can make recordings of any of those passages as well!
